Royals laboured to a 1-1 draw against the Glovers at Madejski Stadium on Saturday after Gary Johnson’s visitors had three players sent off.

Byron Webster, Joe Ralls and Kieffer Moore were all red carded in the second half of last weekend’s clash, though Webster’s red has since been rescinded by the Football Association.

But Adkins’ men could not capitalised and, after Adam Le Fondre missed a penalty, they relied on a John Lundstram own goal on 66 minutes to secure a point after Shane Duffy had headed Yeovil into a 20th minute lead.

The draw moved Yeovil off the bottom of the table, while Reading have failed to win any of their last three Championship matches at Madejski Stadium following earlier defeats to Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers.

They have also dropped out of the play-off positions and have been replaced by in-form Wigan Athletic, who have a game in hand.

But all is not lost for the Royals who face back-to-back trips to play-off rivals Brighton & Hove Albion this Saturday (3pm ko) then Brian McDermott’s Leeds United next Tuesday (7.45pm ko) before entertaining third-placed Derby County.

A host Reading players will also be representing their country during the week, and Adkins declared: “We’ve got nine or ten players away on international duty, then it’s Brighton away, Leeds away and Derby at home.

“Probably if you look at it the biggest week so far in the context of our season.”

This week’s international fixtures means Adkins will have little time to iron out his side’s problems before they travel to Brighton this weekend.

A string of Reading players are away on duty, some of whom are not due to return until Thursday morning.

Danny Williams’ excellent form for the Royals has earned the midfielder a recall by USA who face Ukraine in Cyprus tomorrow night.

The 24-year-old midfielder was a regular in the side before he suffered an injury, but now has his sights set on making their World Cup 2014 squad.

Elsewhere, Chris Gunter and Hal Robson-Kanu are due to play for Wales against Iceland in Cardiff while Royals duo Alex Pearce and Stephen Kelly are in the Republic of Ireland squad for their friendly with Serbia in Dublin.

Winger Garath McCleary has been selected by Jamaica to face Granada, though Reading skipper Jobi McAnuff has withdrawn from Reggae Boyz’ squad with concussion suffered up in training last week.

Finally, Latvia captain Kaspars Gorkss is due to tackle Macedonia while Pierce Sweeney (ROI U21s) and Jonathan Henly (Scotland U21s) are also on duty.

MICHAEL Hector and Harry Cardwell scored as Reading defeated Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield in the Under 21s Premier Academy League on Monday night.
