READING Town will be aiming to win just their fifth league home game when they host Slimbridge at Scours Lane this Saturday (3pm ko).

Like the rest of the sides in the Hellenic Premier, Town were without a match last weekend as their clash with Bracknell Town was postponed - to now be played on April 14.

The free weekend has given Chris Hatton and Ben Gladwin time to recover from knocks and Reading manager Mark Bartley is looking forward to getting his side back on to the pitch.

"It was a little bit frustrating that we couldn't get the game on against Bracknell but the pitch was hard so you have to think about the safety of the players," he told the Chronicle.

"Slimbridge will be a tough game, they beat us a few times last year in the league and the cup but we've already won at their place by the odd goal and we will be looking to do the same again on Saturday."

Town's training sessions have been restricted to the gym this week due to the cold snap but they are hoping to practice this evening (Thursday).

The Scours Lane side will be without both Richard Witt and Jamaal Whight for the game on Saturday as their suspensions were unable to be enforced last weekend.

Meanwhile, Woodley Town and Highmoor Ibis both saw their matches postponed at the weekend.

Highmoor were due to take on Thatcham Town Reserves in the second round of the Supplementary Cup while Woodley were set to host Shortwood United in the third round of the Challenge Cup.

Woodley's match has been rescheduled for February 25 and Highmoor for

the later date of March 3.

This Saturday, weather permitting, both sides return to Hellenic Division One East action as Woodley travel to high-flying Chinnor and leaders Highmoor host Penn & Tylers Green.
