READING Town were knocked out of the FA Vase in the fourth round after an enthralling 3-2 defeat to Larkhall Athletic at Scours Lane on Saturday.
Nat Auckland fired the visitors into the lead with just 14 minutes on the clock before Town equalised on the stroke of half-time through Michael Bartley.
Graham Lewis spurned the chance to give Reading the lead on the hour mark when he saw his penalty saved by goalkeeper Chris Snoddy.
And Larkhall took full advantage of the miss as Auckland made it 2-1 and then Nick Hudson headed past Oneal Garnes for the visitors' third goal.
Phillip John reduced the deficit from the penalty spot but despite their best efforts, Town were unable to level the match in the final 10 minutes.
