READING Town held onto top spot in Hellenic League Premier Division despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Wantage Town on Saturday.

Indeed Colin Millard's side were forced to hit back from a goal down at Scours Lane before earning a share of the points.

Richard Claydon put Wantage into a first half lead but Reading's Danny Williamson secured a point with an equaliser 13 minutes from time.

Town got back to winning ways in midweek, however, with a 3-1 defeat of Oxford City Nomads in the first round of the Hellenic Floodlit Cup.

A Graham Lewis double was added to an Aaron Parfitt strike to seal Town's passage.

Town face two tough away trips next week, with a visit to Abingdon Town on Saturday followed by Tuesday night's clash at Flackwell Heath.
