MITCHELL Parker scored a brilliant hat-trick, but it was not enough for Highmoor Ibis as they were beaten 4-3 at Oxford City Nomads in the Hellenic League Premier Division on Saturday, writes Richard Ashton.

Parker put his side in front after just six minutes, finding space in the box before firing past goalkeeper Luke Sanders.

Nomads hit back, though, and levelled shortly after courtesy of a Will McEachran penalty before going in front on the quarter-of-an-hour mark thanks to a brilliant Josh Gibbens overhead kick.

A second Parker strike equalised matters just a minute later, and he completed his hat-trick to send Highmoor into the break 3-2 in front. The visitors could have gone further in front early in the second half when they had an effort cleared off the line, but in a dramatic finale, Kyreece Martei made in 3-3 on 78 minutes before Nathan Simms snatched all three points in stoppage time.

Highmoor’s game at Abingdon United was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch on Monday, leaving them 18th in the table.
