THE spoils were shared between Rivermoor landlords Highmoor Ibis and tenants Woodley United as they drew 2-2 in their Premier Division clash on Saturday.
Hosts Highmoor had a shot in the opening minute, only for Aaron De Rama’s effort to be saved by goalkeeper Alex Reed.
And it was the Kestrels who took a 13th-minute lead when Haydon Richardson got on the end of a fine through ball from Toby Briggs and beat Aaron Watkins with a low shot into the right-hand corner.
Richardson almost added another and teammate Danny Horscroft had a shot deflected, but midway through the half the scores were level when Joe Joslyn set-up Kia Alleyene who finished well.
Woodley full back Jordan Goddard forced a save from Watkins, diving to his left, and the sides went into the break locked at 1-1.
Highmoor started the half well and after Ricardo Catlyn blazed over, they took a 47th-minute lead when Imani Likita netted from the spot after Reed had brought down Joslyn.
Richardson had a chance to level before Joslyn and Alleyne both missed to the right for the hosts, and they were made to pay five minutes from time when Horscroft’s free-kick nestled in the bottom right-hand corner.
Ibis were reduced to 10 men in injury-time when Austin Best was shown a second yellow for a foul on the left wing, but Highmoor held on for a point.
Second-bottom Highmoor Ibis travel to Longlevens on Saturday (3pm).
- WOODLEY United picked up a second Premier Division point in three days as they drew 1-1 with ABingdon United at Rivermoor on Monday night.
A 17th-minute Haydon Richardson penalty put the Kestrels in front, but a second-half equaliser denied them all three points.
Woodley United, who sit 18th in the table, travel to Brimscombe & Thrupp on Saturday (2pm), before hosting Windsor on Monday night (7.45pm).
- AFC Aldermaston endured a disappointing start to the year as they were thrashed 4-0 at Thame Rangers in Division One East on Tuesday night.
The result leaves the Atom Men 10th in the table with 14 points from 13 games.
AFC Aldermaston – whose game Bluefin Sports Supplementary Cup home game with Chalfont Wasps was postponed last Saturday – host Didcot Town Reserves this Saturday (3pm).
