WOODLEY United Reserves’ Thames Valley League Premier Division campaign ended with a 2-0 home defeat to Cookham Dean on Saturday.
The visitors created plenty of chances in the first half, but had no goals to show for their efforts.
However that changed in the second period when Kai Murphy Douglas finished well after the goalkeeper had failed to hold a Lee Hawkins drive 10 minutes after the restart.
Hawkins then had a chance to double the lead when he was hauled down for a penalty on 80 minutes, but the keeper pulled off a fine save.
Shortly afterwards, though, Hawkins had the last laugh when he stayed cool to roll in a deserved second to secure the three points as Cookham recorded their seventh successive league victory.
Woodley United Reserves finish the season eighth in the table having finished their 26 matches with 32 points.
