WOODLEY United were twice in the lead before losing 4-3 at AFC Burghfield in Division One of the Reading & District Sunday League, writes Richard Ashton.

Kevin Finlay put the visitors in front in the opening minute, but the home side hit back shortly after.

Woodley nudged ahead on 21 minutes through man-of-the-match Sam Bell, but Burghfield equalised two minutes later and scored either side of half time to move 4-2 in front.

An 85th-minute Dan Blatchford penalty gave United hope, but Burghfield scrambled the ball off the line in the final play.

Table-toppers Le Galaxy dropped their first points of the season in a 1-1 draw at Eldon Celtic, Polonia Reading beat Atletico Forest 2-1 and FC Woodley triumphed 3-2 at S.C. United.

Senior Division leaders Dee Road Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw at unbeaten Reading Irish, while Reading YMCA thrashed Kidmore End/The Mod 7-0 and Southcote eased past Burghfield 4-1.

Mark Way gave Tilehurst YM a 25th-minute lead before Kidmore End/The Mod Reserves salvaged a 1-1 draw in the Premier Division.

Table-toppers Barton Rovers were stunned 4-1 at Mortimer and Woodley Wanderers battered The County 7-1.

Richfield Rovers reached the Tilehurst Charity Cup semi-finals with a 3-2 victory at Purley, while AFC Pangbourne beat Richfield Rovers Reserves 5-2.

In Division Two, table-toppers Caversham AFC drew 1-1 with AFC Burghfield Reserves, Charvil Rangers beat Arborfield 2-1 and Imaan edged out Loxwood 3-2.

Park Villa downed Forest FC 3-1 in Division Three East, while 116 Exiles hammered FC Berksalona 4-0.

Unbeaten AFC Basildon smashed Southbank 8-2 in Division Three West, Tilehurst Club A cruised past Mortimer Reserves 5-1 and Whitley Athletic beat Tilehurst Titans 3-2.

Shinfield Rangers drew 4-4 with Fox & Hounds in Division Four East, while Delta Vigo overcame Twyford Comets 1-0.

In Division Four West, The Bugle beat New England 5-3 and Englefield destroyed Burghfield Reserves 5-1.

Southcote Colts won 4-0 at South Reading in the John Lusted Cup, and AFC Pangbourne Reserves won 6-3 against Six Bells.
