David Barr scored 79 in the final match but it wasn't enough to save Reading.

Just six points separated sixth-placed Aston Rowant and second-from-bottom Reading in the final standings, with David Barr's men relegated to the Thames Valley Cricket League after failing to secure a win since early June

Barr's 79 helped the hosts set 197-9 before Ian Cocklbain smashed 101 to guide Gerrards Cross to the target with over 10 overs to spare.

Reading 2nds avoided relegation from TVL Division 2b after a seven-wicket victory over local rivals Sonning.

Reading made light work of the target of 136 with Amandeep Singh anchoring the reply with an innings of 67.

Sonning avoided relegation by just six points as Falkland 2nds and Maidenhead & Bray lost to Chesham and Bagshot.

Also in Division 2b, Kidmore End suffered a heavy 111-run defeat to champions Wokingham.

Dan Reddyhough's 48 helped Wokingham set 203-8 after 47 overs before Sanjay Jain took figures of 5-25 to bowl Kidmore out for just 92.

Despite the loss, Jeff Sheldon's side can look forward to another season in the division after finishing fourth, 84 points behind winners Wokingham and 37 ahead of the relegated sides.

Purley-on-Thames secured the Division 4b title after a seven-wicket win against Theale & Tilehurst at The Pavilion.

Chasing a target of 173, Alan Schofield and Paul Reiber both hit unbeaten 60 to help the champions reach the target in the 31st over.

Finally, Hurst ended their campaign on a high with 46-run win against Odiham & Greywell.

Jack Wrigley's half-century helped the hosts set 201 before Wiltshire finished with figures of 5-40 to bowl the visitors out for 155. Hurst finished sixth in the division with 230 points, 66 behind winners Purley.
