Berkshire win at Lord's

Berks 196-4 beat Herts 194-9 by six wickets.

BERKSHIRE won the Minor Counties Knockout Cup after a six wicket victory over Hertfordshire at Lord's this afternoon.

Bjorn Mordt's side dominated the rain-affected match to claim their second triumph in this competition in seven years.

In front of a healthy crowd, Berks limited Herts to 194-9 from their resuced 36 overs, with Chris Peploe taking 3-38.

And Berks cruised home on 196-4 with more than two over to spare and a heap of wickets in hand.

Michael Roberts was their star batsman after a finishing 97 not out, while fellow Henley team-mate David Barnes made 52.
