Grosvenor were crowned Premier Division champions following a thrilling final day of action.

Going into the last Saturday of the season, any one of five teams could have won the title but it was Grosvenor who held their nerve with an 86-run triumph against Sulhamstead & Ufton.

Such was the tight nature of the title race that Stoke Row, who had topped the table at the start of play, slipped down to fifth by the end of the day following their five-wicket defeat against Mortimer West End.

Grosvenor swept to the title on the back of an emphatic 86 run triumph at Sulhamstead & Ufton.

Batting first, Hamid Sana's side showed their aggressive intent from the off and were able to declare on 247-5 after just 42 overs.

Leading the charge were Mushtaq Ahmed, who smashed 87, and another 64 for Mohammad Rafi, whose runs have played a crucial part in Grosvenor's charge in the second half of the season.

In reply, Jamie Seward made a gutsy 60 but his side were unable to deny Grosvenor a maiden title as they were eventually dismissed for 161 to allow the Berkshire County Sports based side to celebrate.

Just up the road from Sulhamstead, Mortimer West End were able to claim the runners-up spot following a convincing five-wicket victory over Stoke Row.

Having won the toss, Stoke Row, who were devoid of key all rounder Will Macdonald, elected to bat but were in immediate trouble at 28-2.

Wickets continued to fall with Nick Kingston, Ken Allsobrook, Nick Bielby and Andy Johnson all claiming braces as Row fell to 205 all out.

Amidst the carnage, 19-year-old Sam Fletcher posted a magnificent and chanceless 117.

In reply, the league's top run scorer Jamie Stead made a classy 61, while Paul Magee closed the game out with an excellent unbeaten 50.

West End eventually reached 207-5 with 15 balls to spare after Magee was joined in an unbroken sixth wicket stand of 59 by Bielby.
