DAN Cartledge struck his maiden 1st XI half century for Crowthorne & Crown Wood as they beat Peppard Stoke Row by eight wickets to leapfrog their opponents into fourth place, writes Richard Ashton.

PSR were restricted to 166-9, and Cartledge (66no), Richard Barron (45) and opener Ant Cluett (43no) ensured they reached their target with 29 balls to spare.

Leaders Sulhamstead returned to winning ways with a 119-run thrashing of Woodley.

Steve Belcher (42) top scored in Sully’s 212-9, before magnificent Matt Gill (6-25) and Craig Palmer (3-24) ripped through the visitors’ line-up, routing them for just 93.

Berkshire County Sports secured a fourth straight win with a 40-run success at Ruislip Victoria.

Waqas Ashraf (60) and Salman Hamidi (42) led BCS to 193, with Sak Bhatti (4-25) and Ilija Krunic (3-25) impressing with the ball.

Ruislip’s top order was blown away by Saqib Hussain (5-39), and despite number 10 Usman Jamil’s valiant 49, they were bowled out for 153.

Zafar Ali (115no) and Adam Davidson (112no) both made centuries as West Reading (284-4) gained the better of a draw with Sandhurst (216-5). James Birch scored 87 for the Camels.

Woodcote secured a winning draw in a tight affair against Welford Park.

Will Macdonald (77) and Ryan Lennard (53) put on 117 for the home side, and despite Ian Herrington’s 3-49, they closed on 249-8.

Joe Lawrence (64) and Will Herrington (47) put Park in command, but they ultimately decided to ensure the draw, closing on 238-6.

Ibis Mapledurham went top of Division One with an emphatic seven-wicket win at Checkendon.

Richard Pilkington (3-15) was the chief destroyer as Checks were bundled out for just 90, and the visitors eased to their target in just 16.5 overs.

Conrad Hall (4-32) did the damage as second-placed Bradfield (164-6) beat Sulhamstead 2nds (162) by four wickets. Sidney Hopper-Kelly (4-30) was the pick of the Sully attack.

Pete Slade (4-18) and George Taylor (4-39) inspired Goring-on-Thames (107-9) to a thrilling one-wicket success against Emmbrook & Bearwood (106). Richard Cole took 4-26 for the Bears.

Tom Hale (43) helped Farley Hill recover from 98-6 to 220 as they registered a first win of the season – by 91 runs – in their bottom-of-the-table clash with West Reading 2nds.

Wasim Akram claimed 4-35 for Wests, but Michael Sheridan’s 4-12 helped skittle the visitors for 129.

Opener Gavin Stamp (63no) and Will Bray (50) provided the platform for Mortimer West End (234-4) to have the better of their draw against Peppard Stoke Row 2nds (200-8), for whom Matt Ravden top scored with 52.

Division Two table-toppers Shinfield battered Woodley 2nds by 135 runs.

Suneet Basra (101no), Anuraag Shukla (74) and Jay Deshmukh (55) powered the visitors to a massive 322-7 before Rehaan Samdani (3-50) led the way in dismissing Woodley for 187.

Sree Venkata top scored with 66 as Waltham St Lawrence (235) had the best of a draw against Hawley (196-5). Captain Tom Heighes made 55 for the home side.

Stuart Barrable smashed a remarkable 160 from just 100 balls and shared in a divisional record second-wicket stand of 253 with Robin Thompson (102) before Tywford & Ruscombe’s game at Emmbrook & Bearwood was cancelled.

The visitors racked up a colossal 306-8, but the Bears were going smoothly at 59-0 from 9.3 overs when captain Sanjeev Jain (42no from 29 balls) was struck in the head and had to be taken to hospital, forcing the game to be called off.

Steven Mapes (5-20) was in fine form as Earley (44-4) beat Warfield (42) by six wickets.

Dan Finucane (6-18) led the way for Crowthorne & Crown Wood 2nds (103-5) as they defeated Stratfield Turgis (101) by five wickets, Dave Shaw’s unbeaten 50 steadying the ship for the Crows after Craig Strudley (4-27) had left them in trouble at the start of their reply.

John Westbrook blasted an unbeaten 65 from only 31 balls to fire Welford Park 2nds (196-2) to a comfortable eight-wicket success against Knowl Hill (195-9) in Division Three, while skipper Rob Dyer made 91 for Peppard Stoke Row 3rds (220-7) in their narrow two-wicket home defeat to Bradfield 2nds (221-8).

Jonny Bray scored 88 for the visitors while Taylor Vines took 4-36.

Mortimer and Ruislip Victoria 2nds conceded their games against Sandhurst 2nds and Purley-on-Thames 3rds respectively.

In Division Four, leaders Shinfield 2nds (233) were stunned by Mortimer West End 2nds (236-6), Abrar Pewakar’s brilliant 134 not out proving decisive.

Colin Canty (57no) and Steve Andrews (53) made hay as Binfield 3rds (276-6) dominated their draw with Emmbrook & Bearwood 3rds (157-6).

Mahur Sharma’s 54 helped Sulhamstead 3rds (226-9) beat Waltham St Lawrence 2nds (117) by 109 runs, while West Reading 4ths conceded against Falkland Development.

Asim Hussain bagged figures of 4-17 before Kaseem Ali’s 74 fired West Reading 3rds (143-4) to a six-wicket victory against Crowthorne & Crown Wood 3rds in the Bye Week Challenge.
