WARGRAVE 2nds were convincingly beaten by 103 runs at Division 5b leaders Boyne Hill 2nds, writes Richard Ashton.

The visitors chose to bowl and gained a relatively early success when Scott Morton had Najib Khan caught and bowled for 15, but Paul Davis (39) and Steve Curlewis (49) then put Boyne Hill in charge.

Bilal Ashgar added 63 and the home side declared after 49 overs on 243-6.

The Wargrave reply did not go to plan with only Kam Hanif (49) offering much defiance, and they were eventually bowled out for 140.

In Division 2b, Sonning (64) were thrashed by 126 runs at Aldershot (190-8). Duncan Parr (32) made half of Sonning’s runs.

Sonning host Beaconsfield on Saturday (1pm).

Hurst (150) lost to Beaconsfield (245-6 declared off 48 overs) by 95 runs, Harry Stephens taking 6-38 for Beaconsfield.

Hurst host Thatcham Town on Saturday (1pm).

Jack Clark took 5-36 as leaders Wargrave drew with nearest rivals Cove 2nds in Division 3a.

Matt Farr (79 and 6-43) proved the difference as Cove were bowled out for 207 before restricting Wargrave to 148-9 in reply.

Wargrave visit Chiswick & Whitton this coming Saturday (1pm).

An unbeaten 50 from Rob Dimmack helped Theale & Tilehurst (211-7) climb to second in Division 4b following their three-wicket win against North Maidenhead 2nds (208).

Theale & Tilehurst visit Stoke Green 2nds on Saturday (1pm).

In Division 6b, Mohammed Atif (55 and 5-36) was Sonning 2nds’ (156-4) star man in their six-wicket success at home to Finchampstead 4ths (155).

Ollie Lovegrove (98) and Kelvin Baillie (76no) led Hurst 2nds (284-6 declared in 45 overs) to an emphatic 178-run win against Reading 2nds (106) in Division 6b. Ian Harvey helped himself to 5-22 for Hurst.

Theale & Tilehurst 2nds collected 25 points after Thatcham Town 3rds conceded their Division 7a contest.

Rob Why smashed 152 as Theale & Tilehurst 3rds drew with Sonning 3rds in Division 8a.

His knock helped T&T post 251, with Gary Phillips (5-83) the pick of the attack.

Sonning struggled against Karan Dhall (5-31) in reply, but eventually limped to safety on 126-8.

In Division 9a, Eversley 4ths conceded their game at Wargrave 3rds.
