SULHAMSTEAD & Ufton have a clear lead in the Berkshire Cricket League Premier Division after a 35-run win against second placed Peppard Stoke Row on Saturday.

The home side were put into bat and made 212-6 from their allotted 45 overs, with Shiva Aruna (57) and Ryan Brown (41) the top run scorers.

Skipper Dan Hayden (2-40) and Dion Sampson (2-60) were the pick of the Peppard bowlers.

Fergus Nutt (98) and Hayden (33) kept the visitors in contention with the bat, but only Richard Ashton (16) and Danny May (10) could also reach double figures as Peppard were bowled out for 177 after 35.2 overs.

Phil Braithwaite took 3-28 for Sulhamstead and was backed up by Marc Thompson (2-18) plus Matthew Gill (2-20).

West Reading moved up to third in the table following their 48-run win at Crowthorne & Crown Wood.

Batting first, Taskeen Ahmed (53) and Zafar Ali (49) helped West Reading to 180-9 from their allotted 45 overs.

Anthony Cluett (3-41) and Jeff Cluett (3-48) were the leading bowlers for the home team.

In response, Crows were bowled out for 132 after two balls of the 39th over, with Muhammad Shakeel Arshad (68), Anthony Cluett (23) and Mehboob Alam (15) the only batsman to hit double figures.

Adeel Razaq led the West Reading bowling attack with his five-wicket haul (6-32), while Ashan Iqbal claimed (4-22).

An unbeaten century from skipper Adam Birch (115*) helped Sandhurst to a seven-wicket win at bottom of the table Woodley.

Woodley batted first and reached 212 all out from 40 overs with Kasheef Ali (62), Jordan Goddard (39) and Faisal Ahmed (38) the leading batsman.

James Birch claimed 5-62 for Sandhurst, with Jack O’Neill (2-23), Luke Mills (2-27) and Edward Batchelor (1-30) taking the over wickets.

The visitors coasted to 213-3 after 35 overs for the victory, largely thanks to a 123-run partnership between Adam and James Birch (50).

Berkshire County Sports stand sixth in the table following their winning draw at Welford Park on Saturday.

Umer Khalid (76), Usman Asif (61) and Sohail Abbas (38) helped Berkshire set a total of 256 all out from 31.2 overs.

Alex Hutchinson was the leading Welford bowler with his 4-37, while Ian Herrington (2-39) and Stephen Yahia (2-47) claimed two wickets apiece.

In response, the home side reached 183-8 from 48 overs with Hutchinson (52) and skipper Ben Myers (44) the main run scorers.

Shuaib Nasir (3-13) and Abbas (3-20) performed best with the ball.

Ruislip Victoria have leapfrogged Woodcote in the league table after their 24-run away win in a low scoring game.

Ruislip were bowled out for 114 after 30 overs with Sufian Sanik (32) and Puneet Kapoor (15) the top run scorers.

Jaimee Jose led the Woodcote attack with his his figures of 4-31, supported by Paul Knox (2-20) and Mark Pearson (2-34).

In response, Woodcote lost their first six wickets for 33 runs until Stefan Gordon (25) and Ryan van Heerden (20) got them back into the match with a 40-run stand.

But when that partnership ended Woodcote were skittled for just 90 inside 26.3 overs with Zahid Siddique taking 4-11 from his 3.3 overs.

In Division One, Ollie Williams (89), Sean Woodward (62no), Andy Webb (45) and Adam Telford (35) were in the runs as Emmbrook & Bearwood defeated Ibis Mapledurham by 159 runs.

They posted 265-6 in 45 overs before dismissing their opponents for 106 led by John Smart (3-18). David Drury made 49 for Ibis but only three players reached double figures.

Goring defeated Checkendon by six wickets after Checks were dismissed for 155 despite 48 from Manpreet Singh, Peter Slade taking 4-26.

Goring eased home on 158-4 led by Stephen Wincott (40no) and Ollie Carrier (46).

Mortimer West End beat Farley Hill by four wickets. The visitors made 238-9 thanks to a 160-run stand between Duncan Greef (66) and Tee Khan (72) with Andy Trott (4-55) and Nick Kingston (3-39) leading the way.

But West End got home on 240-6 in the 44th over with Willliam Bray (78), Kingston (46) and Andy Johnson (38no) among the runs.

Bradfield secured a four-wicket win over West Reading 2nds after David North’s 4-44 helped dismiss their opponents for 133. Jonathan Stebbings (60no) guided Bradfield home on 136-6 in the 31st over.

In Division Two, Earley beat Emmbrook & Bearwood 2nds by five wickets after bowling them out for a mere 49, Steven Mapes tearing through the order with 5-12 from nine overs, helped by David Mapes (3-17).
