WEST Reading collected their maiden Wintech Berkshire Cricket League Premier Division title at Goring & Streatley Golf Club.

Wests had finished runners-up on three previous occasions, but finally managed to break their duck in 2016.

His clubmate Mark Cobb was named Premier Criteria Young Player of the Year having taken seven wickets in the top flight, while Peppard Stoke Row Under 15 George Lee won the Membership Criteria award.

Ibis Mapledurham’s player Chris Webber won the Fielder of the Year trophy after taking 15 catches.

League secretary Sam Peates won the Peter Tyler Award as the highest-rated umpire in the Premier Division, with Stratfield Turgis’s Peter Tyler winning the Club Umpire gong for teams outside the top flight.
