READING Rockets held its annual presentation evening with 330 guests packing out the Windsor Room at the Hilton Hotel.

The presenters were the Mayor of Reading, Cllr Mohammed Ayub , television presenter Sangeeta Bhabra and Nick Humby, ex-finance director at Manchester United, previously involved with tennis, currently linked to the ASA and who recently relinquished his chairman role with the British Basketball Federation.

The most valuable player award for the men’s senior team was won by Craig Ponder, with Ibu Jassey Demba collecting the most improved player gong and Danny Carter taking the coaches’ award for outstanding contribution.

The equivalent prizes for the Division Four side were won by Ganesh Bikram Rana, Aaron O’Sullivan and Bradley Knight, while the Under 18 trophies were taken by Fidel Gomez De Enterria Lopez, Alex Drincic and Jay Carter respectively.

The Division One ladies’ victors were Andrea Gomez De La Vara, Diana Olosho and Maike Delow, and the U18 girls’ prizes were won by Chiara Di Stefano, Beth Dennis and Liv Archibald.

The U16 boys’ A MVP was David Obediah, Asher Ndah grabbed the MIP title and Gaurav KC won the coaches’ award.

In the B team, Taylor Dawson, Ben Firrell and Josh Adams took the plaudits, with Angelique Villava-cua, Thea Garcia and Saffie Jarju enjoying success in the girls’ section.

Tristan Carter, Titas Jonaitis and Baileigh Knight won the U14 boys’ A prizes, with the B section gongs going to Ciaran Murtagh, Nathaniel Donkor and Matthew Busher respectively.

Becky Cooke, Chisom Ezekwe and Valerie Jones were the winners in the U14 girls’ team, with Malachi Easton, Aftab Baquer and Luca Zani picking up the prizes of the U12 boys.

The coach of the year award was shared by Josh Thorne and Ben Fisher, while the Margaret Kenderdine clubman of the year Award went to the O’Donnell Family.
