READING FC Under 23s drew 2-2 with Wolves Under 23s in their opening game of the Premier League 2 season.

Danny Loader and Tyler Frost each netted with a stunning strike for Scott Marshall’s side at Madejski Stadium, with Bernard Ashley-Seal grabbing a brace for the visitors.

First-team squad players Andy Rinomhota, Josh Barrett, Tom Holmes and Loader were all named in Marshall’s side on Saturday.

But Royals fell behind in the forth minute when Ashley-Seal converted after Liam Driscoll had made an initial save.

However, the hosts equalised in the 19th minute with a superb finish from Loader who rode a heavy challenge before firing past Wolves keeper Andreas Sondergaard from 20 yards.

Royals then took the lead in the 34th minute with another superb goal.

Barrett raced down the pitch and whipped over a cross which Frost met first-time with a stunning volley that flew into the net.

Reading, though, were pegged back three minutes later when Ashley-Seal collected an Oskar Buur cross before firing past Driscoll to make it 2-2.

The second half failed to live up to the first with neither side able to convert any of their chances as the clash ended in a draw.

Reading U23s travel to Leicester City’s Holmes Park this Friday in the Premier League International Cup (7pm).
