NEGOTIATIONS between Reading FC and Brighton & Hove Albion FC over Liam Moore's future are set to go down to the wire.

The 25-year-old defender shocked Royals by handing in transfer request just days before the start of the new season.

Moore has been linked with a move to the south coast throughout the summer and demanded to be sold before the transfer window slams shut at 5pm tomorrow (Thursday).

Chris Hughton's Brighton have launched multiple bids for Royals' star man but they have all fallen short of Reading's £15m valuation of Moore.

And Reading manager Paul Clement stressed he will welcome Moore back to the squad should a move fail to materialise.

He said; “He's one of our best players and in the eight games I was here at the end of last season I think he was the stand-out individual.

“There's always going to be clubs who want your best players.

“I just want to say that he is a really good player and I hope he ends up staying her.

“These things never work out in an ideal situation, but we'll manage it.

“Hopefully he will be a positive outcome sand he will still be with us.”

Moore has three years left on his current contract which he signed in August 2017.

Brighton are also weighing up a move for Wigan Athletic defender Dan Burn after their approach for Sheffield United's Jack O'Connell was turned down.
