BRIGHTON & Hove Albion have turned their attention to Wigan Athletic defender Dan Burn as Reading FC continue to stand firm over Liam Moore's valuation.

Star defender Moore was left out of Paul Clement's squad on Friday night after the 25-year-old slapped Royals with a transfer request a week earlier.

The former Leicester City man wants to force through a move to the Premier League and has been linked with a switch to the south coast all summer.

Abion have had several bids rejected for Moore but have so far failed to reach Royals' valuation of £15m for last season's player of the year.

And with the transfer window set to slam shut in three days, Chris Hughton now appears to have turned his attention to Latics defender Burn.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player has also seen an approach for Sheffield United's Jack O'Connell rebuffed by the Blades.

Meanwhile, Royals boss Paul Clement insisted he would welcome Moore back into his first-team plans despite the player demanding to be sold.

"I would like Liam to stay," asserted Clement.

"He is a really good player and we want to keep our good players here.

"At the end of the day it will be down to our owners and whether they want to sell him or not.

"The timing is not ideal but if he stays then great, if not we'll have to look at bringing in another good player.

"I'm positive we will have a good outcome to this."
