THE Polish A.A. held their qualifier to the National Polish Lure Championship Final on the RDAA sections of the River Kennet and K. & A. Canal at Benyons and Ufton, writes Alan Hughes.

They only record the length and 47 anglers took part where in total they caught 102 fish.

This consisted of 63 perch up to 45cm, 31 pike up to 88cm, six trout and two chub, one of which was 50cm.

Bracknell Avocets held their match on Beat 5B section of the Kennet.

All anglers managed a catch, but it proved very difficult.

Stewart Howe, on the Holybrook peg, found the fish and won the match with a weight of 3lbs, which was mainly dace and a reasonable perch.

Martyn Connelly was second with 2lbs 8ozs of bits and Richard Herman was third with 2lbs 2ozs.

The Thames at Sonning was the venue for Prospect A.C, where small silver fish were the order of the day.

Steve Collins took top spot with 4lbs 14ozs, the runner-up was Stuart Davies with 1lb 14ozs and completing the top three was Mick Simmons with 13ozs.

Away from RDAA venues, T.R.B.L.A.S. travelled to Clifton Hampden to fish the Thames.

Simon Couling led the field with 18lbs 11ozs of quality roach, Darren Wright took the runner-up spot with 11lbs 3ozs of the same species and completing the trio was Fred Jones with 8lbs 4ozs His net consisted of a bream of 5lbs plus skimmers.
