DIVISION One pacesetters Shinfield continued their charge towards promotion with a four-wicket victory at Crowthorne & Crown Wood 2nds, writes Richard Ashton.

Julian O’Loughlin top scored with 54 for the Crows, but a useful spell from Muhammad Hafeez (4-31) restricted the hosts to 177.

Andrew Baines (4-41) did his best to bowl the home side to victory, but Fakhir Ali and Habib Pataan both made 42 as Shinfield reached their target in 37 overs.

Marc Minikin (53) and skipper Manoj George (52no) both batted well as third-placed Stratfield Turgis beat Earley by 58 runs.

Stratfield were also donated 57 extras in their total of 255-5, and Tom Clay (4-29) and Craig Strudley (3-45) combined to dismiss the visitors for 197.

Vinod Aduri (43) and Lewis Hart (40) provided the most resistance from Earley.

Waseen Ameen smashed 136 and captain Usman Ali added 45 as West Reading 2nds (304-8) dominated their draw at Woodley 2nds (238-8).

Prasad Kulkarni (54) and Rohit Ranjan (46) were the top scorers for Woodley.

A fine team batting performance from Peppard Stoke Row 2nds enabled them to get the better of a draw at Waltham St Lawrence.

Dom Hall (52), Olly Nicholson (52), Andy Watts (45) and Gerry Bacon (44) were all among the runs as PSR racked up 271-8, Sree Venkata the best performer with the ball as he took 4-45.

Tom Heighes (70) top scored in reply, but the Saints could only reach 236-8.

Second-placed Twyford & Ruscombe collected 35 points after Hawley failed to raise a side.

Premier Division table-toppers Checkendon continued their fine run with a seven-wicket triumph at BCS.

Umer Chaudhary (72) was one of only three home players to make double figures in their score of 167, Sushant Agarwal (3-25), Ashish Talreja (3-26) and Alex Podolski (3-27) doing the damage for Checks.

The visitors were never in trouble in reply, with Matt Heslop (62no) and Jim Warren (43) setting up a convincing success.

Sandhurst romped to a convincing seven-wicket success at Goring.

Parvesh Dabra (67) and Lewis Introna (43no) batted well to help the home side score 181-8, Ed Batchelor (3-22) and Calvin Hall (3-25) the most successful of the Camels’ attack.

Captain Adam Birch (43) gave the visitors a solid platform, and his brother James (79no) then finished the job to keep his side near the top.

Rizmy Nilamdeen (75) and Fasul Nufail (54) led Woodley to the better of a draw at Farley Hill.

Craig Jorey took 4-42 as Woodley were bowled out for 231, but Ali Jalil’s 75 ensured Farley reached safety on 178-8.

Naveed Ashgar (3-33) and Nufail (3-43) were the pick of the Woodley attack.

Woodcote’s batting woes continue to haunt them after they lost at home to Mortimer West End by 32 runs.

Sam Tucker (3-25) and James Worsfold (3-27) had put the hosts in the driving seat after MWE were knocked over for 126, but Andy Johnson (3-20), Ian Wise (3-26) and Andy Trott (3-30) proved the West End heroes in skittling Cote for 94.

Bhuwan Satway crashed 63 from just 52 balls as Division Two leaders Shinfield 2nds downed Peppard Stoke Row 3rds by 117 runs.

Shinfield were bowled out for 246, and that proved more than enough as PSR were knocked over for 129.

Fahad Raja’s magnificent unbeaten 94 – which included 15 boundaries and four maximums – fired West Reading 3rds (125-0) to a resounding 10-wicket triumph at home to Wokingham 6ths (124).

Madhur Sharma smashed a sensational 172 from 113 balls as Sulhamstead 3rds secured a winning draw at Welford Park 2nds.

His heroics led Sully to an impressive 286-9, but Welford captain Uday Paturi (78) provided firm resistance as the home side closed on 195-7.

Robert Clarke battered an unbeaten 127 from just 91 balls, but still found himself on the losing side as Purley on Thames 3rds went down by five wickets at home to Knowl Hill.

James Mollard also chipped in with 76 not out as the Potters recovered from 36-6 to declare on 236-6 in 37 overs, Adam Brookman taking 4-40.

The run chase was given a boost by Anthony Stott’s 62 from 60 balls, with Knowl Hill reaching their goal in 38.2 overs.

Sandhurst 2nds conceded their game against Warfield.

Tom Miles recorded brilliant figures of 6-17 to help Division Three table-toppers Mortimer West End 2nds (216-9) to a convincing 94-run home win against Binfield 3rds (122).

West Reading 4ths remain second after holding on for a 12-run triumph against Falkland Development.

Wests were all out for 199, but Zain Ahmed took 6-44 to help dismiss Falkland for 187.

Earley 2nds gave Mortimer 60 extras, but were still able to snatch a dramatic two-wicket victory.

Mortimer were bowled out for 190, but Adam Brooker’s 52 proved key in helping the home side just scrape over the line.

Waltham St Lawrence 2nds conceded their game with Shinfield 3rds, and have since withdrawn from the division.

  • CHALFONT St Giles moved top of the Berkshire, Mid Bucks and Chilterns League Championship after smashing Crowthorne & Crown Wood by 200 runs.

Dan Heaney (58) top scored for the leaders as they declared on 277-7 after 47 overs, Sinith Chandran the pick of the Crows’ attack with 3-36.

The visitors never got going after Chalfont decided to take the old ball and open with spin, and captain Chris Cross (5-24) – who took his 500th league wicket for the club – and Alex Heaney (5-50) routed Crowthorne for just 77.

Second-placed Harpsden lost for the first time this season as they went down by 106 runs at Penn & Tylers Green.

Toby Radford made 57 as Penn totalled 242-8, Tom Hancock (4-53) and Johnny Wright (3-57) impressing with the ball.

Stef Franklin (58) was the only Harpsden batsman to get going in the reply, with spinners John Cockroft (7-54) and Raunak Biswas (3-40) combining to bowl the former leaders out for 136.

Ruislip Victoria moved up to third with a 51-run home win against Welford Park.

Usman Jamil (60no) played a crucial hand after coming in at No. 9, Amir Shehzad having earlier made 59 in the Victorians’ total of 265-7 as Ian Herrington bagged 3-33 from his 15 overs.

Will Herrington (89) was back to his best as Welford tried to chase the score down, but Umair Maan (4-46) and Zafran Akhtar proved too good as they were dismissed for 214.

Peppard Stoke Row’s four-match winning run ended in abrupt style as they were crushed by five wickets at home to Ley Hill.

Richard Clarke took 4-18 as PSR were shot out for a measly 97, and despite debutant Scott Harris claiming 3-43, Ley Hill eased to victory in just 18.2 overs.

Braywood boosted their survival hopes with a three-wicket success at West Reading.

Omer Khalid (56) and Adam Davidson (42) were the main run-getters as Wests were bowled out for 185, Attiq Uddin (5-76) and Raza Farooq (4-19) doing the bulk of the damage.

In reply, Ahsan Iqbal took 3-32, but good knocks from Nasser Satti (72) and Kamran Ahmed (54) helped Braywood over the line.

  • EMMBROOK & Bearwood’s Chilterns League Premier Division woes continued as the basement boys lost at home to Hurley by 48 runs.

Richard Cole starred with the ball as the Bears rolled Hurley for 150, but the home side floundered in reply and were dismissed for just 102.
