WARGRAVE 2nds suffered a disappointing 89-run reverse at Bracknell in their Division 5b clash.

Opener Mohammad Shabbir (48) led the way as the home side were bowled out for 190, Charlie Moss, Hareesh Reedy and Martin Smith remarkably all taking 3-31.

Wargrave never got going as they attempted to chase the score down, with Junaid Ashiq (4-19) and Majid Sherif (3-18) doing the bulk of the damage as they were bowled out for 101.

Tejpal Singh (109) and Chris Rackley (72) were in fine form for Purley on Thames 2nds (275-8 declared in 50 overs) as they eased past Falkland 3rds (184) by 91 runs.

Raj Senniappan (6-69) and Cyril Cox (4-48) were the destroyers-in-chief for the Potters.

A brilliant all-round display from Mohammed Atif (7-56 and 44), aided by Ben Butler’s 46, helped Sonning 2nds (183-9) to a dramatic one-wicket triumph at home to Thatcham Town 2nds (182).

Kidmore End returned to winning ways in Division 2a, beating visitors Amersham 2nds by five wickets.

It was the spin trio of Guy Ashby (5-67) off 19 overs, Umer Faroqi (3-19) and Alex Crawford (2-32) who helped bowl Amersham out for 179, and Shaun Burningham’s 58 lef Kidmore on their way to victory.

Kidmore End visit Windsor this Saturday.

The Wargrave 2nds wicketkeeper with a smart take down the leg side during their defeat to Bracknell. 

Hurst remain bottom of Division 2b after they were hammered by seven wickets at Wargrave.

No batsman really got going for the visitors as Connor White and Tim Everitt – batting at nine and 10 – top scored with 23 in their sub-par total of 143.

Wargrave captain Neal Robinson (4-41) and Mandip Sohi (3-21) were the pick of the hosts’ attack. In reply, Sohi (34) and Luke Taylor (58) set the game up with a fine opening stand, and Wargrave reached 147-3 in 33.4 overs.

Hurst are at home to Aldershot on Saturday, while Wargrave travel to Finchampstead 2nds.

Robbie Jeffrey (5-31 and 48no) starred with bat and ball as Purley on Thames (97-3) put Division 3a basement boys Wooburn Narkovians (96) to the sword in a seven-wicket success.

Purley on Thames are at home to Cove 2nds on Saturday.

In Division 3b, Devan Sharma’s 51 was not enough for Sonning (177) as they were edged out by one wicket at Kew 2nds (178-9).

Sonning host Tring Park 2nds this coming Saturday.

Craig Palmer (50) and Jason Doole (48) were among the runs as Sulhamstead had the better of their Division 4a draw at home to Boyne Hill 2nds.

Doug Macdonald (4-27) and Marc Thompson (3-59) impressed with the ball for Sully, who are at home to Royal Ascot 2nds on Saturday.

Stuart Brown (4-30) and Ash Mishra (3-33) helped Theale & Tilehurst dismiss Newbury for 189, but aside from a superb 51 not out by No. 9 Jared Mizen, the hosts’ batting failed and they were knocked over for 164.

Theale & Tilehurst visit White Waltham on Saturday.

Bracknell's Akmal Sultan is beaten by the ball in the clash against Wargrave 2nds.

Binfield 2nds leapfrogged Hurst 2nds into second place in the Division 6b standings following a dominant 112-run victory.

Tom Nower made a brilliant 97 as Binfield were bowled out for 228, the experienced Ian Harvey the chief destroyer with figures of 5-36.

Hurst’s reply never got going as they were dismissed for 116, Steve Morris top scoring with 43 as Joe Sculley (3-27) shone with the ball.

Rami Adigantia (4-12) and Bob Bolton (3-25) were in inspired form as Bradfield (103-1) crushed Burnham 4ths (102) by nine wickets, Tim Smith making an unbeaten 62 in the run chase.

Royal Ascot 3rds slipped to third-bottom in Division 7a after they were beaten by seven wickets at Sulhamstead 2nds.

The home side were bowled out for 136, and Dan Langford’s unbeaten 76 helped Sully reach their target in 27 overs.

Azhar Udeen (5-50) and Sam Crawford (4-25) helped Kidmore End 2nds romp to a 10-wicket victory at Theale & Tilehurst 3rds (102).

Tom Bodeker then made 54 not out as the visitors reached 104-0 in 19.2 overs.

In Division 8a, Bracknell 2nds (173) lost to Wargrave 3rds (228-5) by 55 runs, while a magnificent 131 from Ben Hardy helped Bradfield 2nds (214-7) beat Sonning 3rds (213-4) by three wickets.

Steve Simmons top scored with 74 for the home side.

Kidmore End 3rds (228-8) eased past Thatcham Town 4ths (138) by 90 runs in Division 9a.
