JON Sturgess, Neale Connor, Chris Browne and Matt Mutters took the honours in the team competition at Andy Clark’s Captain’s Day competition at Wokefield Park.

The quartet finished on 91 points in the ‘Duty Bin’ style stableford format ahead of Mark Grist, Colin Stoute, Paul Howell and Steve Marshall with 88 points.

David Bearman, Dave Cooper, Nigel Hutt and Jackie Atkinson came third with 87 points.

The day raised more than £1,300 for the captain’s charity – First Responders for Burghfield and Mortimer.

“It was a fantastic day and a huge thanks goes to those who played and gave so generously,” said Clark. “Special thanks must also go to Jamie Anton and the Wokefield greenkeepers for making it such a success.”
