READING FC youngster Danny Loader has emerged as a prime target for newly-promoted Wycombe Wanderers, the Chronicle understands.

Chairboys boss Ainsworth is said to be a big admirer of 17-year-old Loader, who was once a product of Wanderers' youth academy.

Royals identified his talent at a young age and lured him to Hogwood Park where he has continued his development.

Wanderers, who secured promotion to League One under Ainsworth, are keen on bolstering their attacking options.

And Loader, who was on the fringes of first-team football for Reading last season, could return to Adams Park on loan for the 2018/19 season.

Loader helped England win the Under 17s World Cup last year and has recently been selected for the Under 18s squad.

Meanwhile, reports today suggest Reading have made an approach for out of contract Barnsley winger Adam Hammill, 30.

The winger has already has been told he will be released from Oakwell at the end of June after Tykes' relegation to League One.

And Royals boss Paul Clement, who snapped up Barnsley's Andy Yiadom on a four-year deal last week, could make a move for former Liverpool man Hammill.
