HIGHMOOR Ibis Under 12 Elite have won the East Berkshire FA First Division title after narrowly edging out Windsor Youth and Bracknell Town to glory.

Delighted manager Steve Povey said “The East Berks league structure is very deep at this level with eight leagues and over 80 clubs, so to win the top division is a major achievement and something the boys should be proud of.

"We’ve had our ups and downs over the season, but the table doesn’t lie and overall we’ve proven ourselves to be worthy winners.

"It is a really strong league, with any team capable of beating anyone else on their day, as has been shown.

"Credit must go in particular to both Bracknell Town and Windsor, two excellent teams who pushed us all the way.”

Highmoor’s achievement was particularly impressive due to season-ending injuries for two of their players – forward Tommy Ingram and goalkeeper Josh Bodimeade – as they headed into the end of the season.
