READING FC are keeping tabs on highly-rated winger Ronan Curtis, it has emerged.

The Republic of Ireland Under 21 international is on the verge of a move to League One side Portsmouth and is due to jet off to the south coast today (Tuesday).

Curtis posted a picture on his Instragram page stating he was on his way to Portsmouth.

However, Derry City chairman, Philip O'Doherty, revealed another English club, understood to be the Royals, are keen on thwarting Pompey's attempt to lure Curtis to Fratton Park.

Derry Journal quoted O'Doherty as saying: “Another English club has made contact with us but, at this stage, I’m not prepared to identify that club as I feel it would disrespectful.

“The club has expressed an interest in Ronan and has asked to be kept informed of his plans for the future.”

Derry City are keen on securing a six-figure fee for the 22-year-old starlet, including add-ons.
