EMMER Green and Reading Irish are set for a titanic showdown in the race to become Senior Division champions, writes Richard Ashton.

Green – who won the title for the only time in their more than 40-year history in 2015 – are a point clear following their 2-0 win against Purley, moving back ahead of 2016 winners Reading Irish who had thumped Kidmore End/The Mod 5-0.

Both sides have two games remaining against each other, with Emmer Green at home this Sunday before Irish are the hosts on Thursday, May 3.

Richfield Rovers Reserves suffered Berks & Bucks Junior Cup semi-final heartbreak as they went down 5-4 on penalties at AJ Victoria. The sides had drawn 2-2.

In the Ted Cambridge Cup, Tilehurst YM will meet Woodley Wanderers in the final after a 2-1 second-leg success against Athletico Forest, the two sides having drawn 2-2 last month.

Woodley Wanderers, meanwhile, hammered AFC Burghfield 5-0 to claim a 9-3 aggregate success.

Division Two title favourites Sportsman secured their first silverware of the season as they battled past Division Three side Twyford Comets to claim the Berks & Bucks Junior Trophy.
