Woodley United Ladies close on title with Barton Rovers win
A SOLITARY 30-yard strike from Charley Evans helped Woodley United Ladies overcome Barton Rovers 1-0, meaning victory against second-placed Wargrave on Sunday will secure the Southern Region Women’s Football League Division One North title.
Phoebe Gubb scored for Newbury Ladies in their 6-1 friendly defeat to AFC Bournemouth, but Newbury Development beat Stanford 5-1 in Division Two South of the Thames Valley Counties League.
Nicole Beesley, Alice Hill, Alex Kovacsova, Jazz Bird and Kendall Gilmour got the goals.
