WOODCOTE Stoke Row extended their lead at the top of the Premier Division table to 11 points with a 4-2 win at Mortimer.

Veteran striker Andy Bullett’s second hat-trick of the season proved to be the difference between the sides during last Saturday’s clash.

It was 41-year-old Bullett who opened the scoring for Woodcote in the eighth minute when he collected Jake Dillon’s cross before firing home.

Mortimer levelled six minutes later when Danny Seaward slotted a penalty past Sonny Wheeler following a foul by Mike Butcher in the box.

The visitors regained the lead in the 23rd minute with a spectacular strike from Bullett.

Frank Dillon launched a ball into the area from the left and Bullett volleyed it first time into the top corner before the helpless Mortimer keeper could move.

Woodcote added a third goal three minutes after the break thanks to neat finish from Ryan Corbett following good work from Jake Dillon and James Worsfold.

Mortimer, though, refused to lie down and pulled one back in the 58th minute when James Croft fired through a crowded area and past an unsighted Wheeler following a corner.

But their hopes of salvaging a point were dashed just four minutes later when Bullett scored from close-range from Jake Dillon’s assist to complete his hat-trick.

The victory sent Woodcote 11 points clear at the top as second-placed Westwood United could only draw 3-3 at home with fifth-placed Newbury.

The visitors scored three times in 10 first-half minutes through Gary Dredge, Brad Pagliaroli and Jake Rowe to earn a point.
