BARTON Rovers Royals produced a fine display to knock Kingsclere Ladies off the top of the Thames Valley Counties League Division Two South table with a 2-1 win.

Royals took the lead against a side who had lost just once in 15 games, a cross by Katie Dearing volleyed home by Jade Deneka-Littleboy from seven yards.

Kingsclere equalised from a corner before the break, but Caitlin Levy held her nerve to convert a penalty and Royals held on for a deserved victory.

  • WOODLEY United Ladies were knocked out of the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup at the semi-final stage with a heartbreaking 2-1 injury-time defeat at home to Maidenhead United.

It was the away side who took the lead seven minutes before the break, Lucy Casey firing home from a tight angle to beat Nicole Haines at her far post.

The opening five minutes of the second half were end-to-end with Haines saving from Natalie Barnes before Rosie Page-Smith's effort from Tat Master’s cross went wide for Woodley.

However, Page-Smith levelled the scores in the 50th minute when she turned a defender to fire past Parker from 20 yards.

Woodley had chances to move in front, but suffered a sucker-punch in the second minute of stoppage time when Tina Brett snatched a winner.

  • NEWBURY Ladies played an inter-club friendly as their 'Whites' overcame 'Reds' 4-2 on Sunday.

Ellie Reed put the Reds in front before goals from Alice Hill and Maria Rodrigues turned the tide for Whites.

Amy McNab equalised, but further goals from Hill and Rodrigues secured a Whites victory.
