KINGFISHER B made it three wins from three in Division One of the Reading & District League with an 8-2 win against battling Tidmarsh A in a closely-fought contest.

Krasimer Ivanov starred for Kingfisher with a maximum after winning his opening contest against Danny Ricks 7-11 11-7 11-6 5-11 11-9.

Eduard Caliman and Dmitry Karkhamov both won twice while Danny Ricks and Tony Baker picked up wins for Tidmarsh.

Harry Munro led the way for Our Lady of Peace A as they won 6-4 at Sonning Common & Peppard A, beating Gary Morgan in the final contest of the night 9-11 11-9 12-10 6-11 13-11.

Steve Miller also beat Morgan in five games, while for Sonning Common Joe Barraclough beat Miller 11-9 9-11 9-11 12-10 11-9.

Kingfisher D got off the mark with an 8-2 win over clubmates Kingfisher E, Nigel Keedy with a maximum alongside doubles from Alan Cummings and Phil Mead.

In Division Two, John Willcocks and Jon Willis both starred as table-toppers Curzon Club A breezed to a 9-1 win at Kingfisher F, Allan Bruton beating Pete Bradley 7-11 11-5 11-9 7-11 13-11 in the opening set for Kingfisher’s sole success.

Two apiece from Matt Isherwood and Denise Weller and a Matt Stone single saw Sonning Common & Peppard C hold Tidmarsh C to a 5-5 draw.

Julian Telford’s maximum helped Tilehurst Methodists A to their first points of the season as they beat Tidmarsh B 6-4, Telford just holding off John Golding 9-11 6-11 13-11 11-6 12-10.

Nial McGrane's maximum and two wins from both Lisa Williams and Malcolm Gregory helped Sonning Common & Peppard D beat Pangbourne WMC 8-2.

Richard Leachman, Grant Wheatley and Roger Woolven-Allen all won twice as Kingfisher F overcame 7-3 at Pangbourne WMC.

Paul Savage won all three as Sonning Sports A made it three wins from three in Division Three by winning 6-4 at Kingfisher H, Keith Machin and Dave Chard adding vital singles.

Trebles from Phil Burke and Ludovik Coulliard saw Springfield A win 6-4 at Sonning Common & Peppard E.

Milestone B managed a 6-4 derby win over clubmates Milestone A, Sanket Dave with a maximum supported through a Zolten Keleman double and Sachin Mundra’s vital single.

Kingfisher I were beaten 8-2 by Our Lady of Peace C, in-form Clive Perry with a treble alongside doubles from Chris West and Derek Kaminski.

In Division Four, Our Lady of Peace D smashed Sonning Common & Peppard F 9 -1 with Pat Daniels, Predeep Desh and Abhay Gore all hitting trebles as they made it three wins out of three. Hot on their heels are the Saiyan Brothers after they won 7-3 at Kingfisher K. Vidhu Ravinath hit yet another three-straight maximum.

Despite a great hat-trick from Geoff Johnson, Curzon Club B lost to Curzon Club C 7-3, for whom Carine Bey, Terry Spice and John Walker all gained doubles, while Jazz Dhillon returned for Reading FC A and promptly won all three to help them win 7-3 at Springfield B.

Our Lady of Peace E won 7-3 against a two-man Tilehurst Methodists C side with Simon Brookes and Adam Laws unbeaten on the night.

In Division Five, Tilehurst Methodists D fielded a team of newcomers against Reading FC B and had a baptism of fire, being beaten 9-1. Steve Christelow picked up his team’s solitary set, by beating Keith Greene, while Derek Anderson and Harry Edwards both recorded maximums, the latter being pushed all the way by Lewis Oke, eventually winning 12-10 12-10 15-13.

A treble from Julian James and a double from Mike Casserley were not quite enough for Sonning Common & Peppard G, as Alona Slobodskoy’s victory over Derek Maltby in the 10th set, secured a deserved point for Our Lady of Peace F, following a number of close sets.

Tilehurst Methodists D suffered a further 9-1 loss, this time at the hands of Sonning Sports B, Steve Christelow again winning Tilehurst Methodists’ single set, by defeating John Scott, while Sally James and Cris Reynolds ended the evening unbeaten for the Sports outfit.

Trebles from John Evans and Carl Edlind helped Milestone C to a 9-1 victory over Kingfisher L, Meriel Low beating Maksym Schipka 5-11 12-10 12-10 11-8 to record Kingfisher’s single win.
