WOODLEY United picked up a first Premier Division win of the season with a 3-1 success at home to fellow strugglers Tilehurst YM, writes Richard Ashton.

A fifth-minute Danny Blatchford penalty put the hosts in front, and Jack Shone doubled the lead on the half hour.

Danny Nicholson gave the Young Men hope when he halved the deficit seven minutes from time, but a late Ollie Jones sealed the three points for Woodley.

AFC Burghfield moved top with a 3-2 victory against Richfield Rovers Reserves.

In the Senior Division, Reading Irish won 4-2 at The Tilehurst Club, table-toppers Dee Road Rangers crushed Richfield Rovers 4-0 and Polonia Reading edged out Ghana Stars 3-2.

Dan Hayden put Henley Town 2-0 up against Woodley Wanderers, but then conceded a last-minute penalty in his side’s extraordinary 6-6 draw.

Leaders Reading United made it four wins from four with a 6-3 triumph at WS Hobnob, while Imaan FC thrashed Spencers Wood 7-1 and Burghfield beat S.C. United 4-2. The Bull overcame AFC Bradfield 5-3, Pangbourne & Basildon Barbarians smashed Woolhampton CFC 5-0 and Caversham AFC conceded at AFC Burghfield Reserves.

Jamie Turner scored a late consolation, but Loxwood were beaten 4-1 by Maiden Place who scored four times in 20 second-half minutes in Division Two.

Tilehurst Club Reserves destroyed Arborfield 7-1 and Forest FC battered Park Villa 6-1.

In the Tilehurst Charity Cup, Emmer Green hammered Southcote Colts A 6-1, Purley squeezed past Woodley Wanderers 3-2 and Kidmore End/The Mod advanced with a 4-0 rout of 116 Exiles.
