LIAM Moore hit back at the Reading FC boo boys in the wake of what he described as a ‘frustrating’ 1-1 draw against Hull City.

Royals were often met with a chorus of jeers as they struggled to create any clear-cut chances following Fraizer Campbell’s opener at Madejski Stadium.

The frustrations continued throughout Saturday's match as supporters became agitated with their team's lacklustre performance.

Fans finally had something to cheer when Jon Dadi Bodvarsson blasted home a vital equaliser with four minutes remaining on the clock, sending Madejski Stadium into raptures.

But Moore admitted Royals were below par for much of the match, though he stressed the criticism from fans was harsh on the players.

“The fans need to stick with us,” groaned Moore in an exclusive interview with the Reading Chronicle.

“The players do hear what is said in the stands. There were a few boos out there today.

“Without saying too much I don’t think we warranted that. We are eight games into the season and we are still learning.

“We’re picking up better results away from home and we’ve had new players come in who need to get to grips with how we play.

“It’s something that needs everyone to stick together. If you look at the teams that have gone up the last few seasons they haven’t always come flying out the blocks.

“Ultimately it’s a long old season, to be criticising and getting too down this early in the season is disappointing, but everyone has a right to their own opinion.”

The Tigers took the lead when Sebastian Larsson’s delicate through-ball split Royals’ defence apart, allowing Campbell to race through and neatly slot past Vito Mannone.

Eyebrows were raised at Royals’ defending, particularly after it appeared Chris Gunter could perhaps have intercepted Larsson’s pass.

But Moore assured fans Royals will hold a full inquest.

“We will have a look at it tomorrow and we will go through it,” he asserted.

“We will look at it from the very start when they got the ball and go through it until the very end like we do with every goal.”

The draw means Royals have not won a league game at Madejski Stadium since the 2-1 victory over Aston Villa on August 15.

“It was frustrating,” continued Moore.

“I think everyone associated with Reading FC would use that word.

“The way we played in the second-half I think we warranted a point.

“We need to start games how we played in the second period and then we would have been in a much better position against Hull.

“If we can win the next two in a row then a seven point return from a tough week will be very good.

“I would have liked to have won today, all the lads would have, but we didn’t so we have to move forward.

“We can’t go into Tuesday’s game at Millwall thinking we’re disappointed that we didn’t win against Hull because there are far too many games in this league to think like that.”

Royals face Millwall away from home on Tuesday night, with Jordan Obita a major doubt after he was stretchered off with a knee injury after Saturday's draw.
