MARIA Tsaptsinos picked up some good victories as she helped England to a 23rd-place finish at the European Championships in Luxembourg.
The 20-year-old Reading player was part of a squad which competed in the second-tier Challenge Division, and they made a good start with a 3-1 victory over Greece, although Tsaptsinos lost her match 3-1.
She then sat out a 3-2 defeat to Slovenia, but returned with a 3-0 victory over Karmit Dor to help England to a 3-1 win over Israel to end the group stage.
In the play-offs, England began with a 3-2 defeat to Azerbaijan, despite a good 3-2 victory for Tsaptsinos over Maryam Imanova.
There followed a 3-1 defeat to Serbia, but England ended with a 3-0 scoreline against Lithuania, Tsaptsinos contributing a 3-1 victory over Kornelija Riliskyte.
