THERE were two RDAA matches on the venues last weekend with both on the River Thames, writes Alan Hughes.

Pangbourne A.C. held their match on the Wallingford B section of the Thames.

Everybody caught fish, but none of the larger chub put in an appearance.

The match was won by Paul Leek who fished waggler tactics to take 16lbs 4ozs of roach, perch and skimmers to the scales.

Second place was secured by Paul Hill with roach and skimmers that weighed in at 11lbs and 9lbs of roach and small chub and third was Mick Seward.

The Mapledurham section of the Thames was the venue for Newtown A.C who found fish difficult to catch in the very clear water.

Terry Smith took the honours with 3lbs 2ozs of roach and perch.

The second spot was claimed by John Clements with 2lbs 4ozs of silvers and the last place on the podium was taken by Stan Redding with 2lbs 1oz that also consisted of silvers.

Moving away from the RDAA matches, Reading Fishing Club used their water at Beale Park for a match.

Simon Couling again took top spot with 21lbs 14ozs of roach, perch and skimmers.

In second place was Andy Woolsey with 15lbs 11ozs and old stalwart Dave Bosher made up the top three with 12lbs 7ozs, both anglers having similar species to the winner.

T.R.B.L. fished their match on the Thames at the Prom in Caversham.

Darren Wright took the top spot with an all perch net of 11lbs 10ozs.

Second place went to Liam Page-Smith with a roach and perch net that took the scales down to 5lbs 4ozs and Steve Drakeford claimed the third place with 4lbs 14ozs of perch.

The RDAA Tuesday Club decided to fish the Thames at the Prom despite the lower weights of the TRBL match at the weekend.

Alan Hughes took the honours with a roach and perch net that totalled 5lbs 2ozs.

Perch were the species for Terry Littlewood who claimed the runner-up spot by weighing in 4lbs 2ozs.

George Callaghan completed the top trio with 2lbs 15ozs of perch.
