READING FC are set to announce the signing of Swansea City winger Modou Barrow, today's reports claim.

It is understood Royals have shunned their interest in Fulham winger Sone Aluko and instead turned their attention to 24-year-old Barrow.

The fleet-footed forward, who can play on the wing or as a second striker, found first-team football limited to come by at Liberty Stadium towards the end of last season.

The Gambian-born player, who began his career in Sweden before heading to Wales, is believed to be discussing personal terms with Royals' chiefs today.

Reports claim Reading launched a £1.25m bid for Barrow, which was accepted.

Barrow played around 20 times for Swansea during the first-half of last season, which saw the club struggling at the bottom of the Premier League under Francesco Guidolin and Bob Bradley.

However, he fell out of favour when current boss Paul Clement took over at the helm of the club, especially after the Swans signed Luciano Narsingh from Dutch club PSV.

Barrow was once linked with a move to Newcastle United.
