READING FC are set to replace long-standing chief executive Nigel Howe with former Chelsea FC CEO Ron Gourlay, reports suggest.
It has been reported that new owners Dai Yongge and Dai Xiuli want to reshuffle the club's boardroom.
And Gourlay, who left Chelsea in 2014, has been touted as the replacement for Howe, who would in turn be given the vice-chairman position.
The Blues landed their first ever Champions League trophy under Gourlay's guidance.
When the 54-year-old left his post at Stamford Bridge, a club spokesman said: "Ron’s efforts have helped the club to achieve its position as one of the leading football clubs in the world.”
Royals have also been heavily linked with a loan swoop for Chelsea starlet and England Under 21 international Lewis Baker, who was part of the London-based club's academy set-up while Gourlay was CEO.
Reading FC has been approached for a comment.
