BERKSHIRE Women’s Indoor Bowling Association’s Bannerette game against Rivermead was won 84-81 by the club side.

The county firstly went ahead by three shots, only for Rivermead to have a single-shot lead at halfway.

Berkshire fought back and by the 15th end found themselves ahead, only to be overtaken decisively.

Top rink for the county was skipped by Gill O’Neil with Iris Norcott and Ingrid Merry. They were plus 15 shots.

The top performers for Rivermead were skipped by Penny Watson with Joan Strong and Anne Mace ending plus 14 shots.

After the match, Berkshire’s president, Doreen Lovering, presented the county’s Bannerette to Rivermead’s captain, Pat Fowkes.

Top rink for the Knights was skipped by Joy Holmes with Geoff Harper, Sheila Gray and Ingrid Merry – plus 29 shots.
