JORDAN Obita has called on his Reading FC team-mates to improve in the final third of the pitch as the Royals prepare to take on Nottingham Forest tomorrow.

The Royals will host Forest (3pm ko) following a disppointinig defeat away at Arsenal in the EFL cup on Tuesday night.

However, Reading won their last league game against Rotherham United, and Obita said the team are looking to make it two league wins in as many games.

The league is our main priority and we’re really focussed on it,” said Obita.

“We’re going to go into the game with confidence."

Stam has changed the way the Royals play since he took the helm over the summer, and has worked tirelessly on helping the players adapt to his possession-based style of play.

And Obita, whose first league goal for the Royals came during an away match against Forest in 2013, said the team still has some improvements to make.

" I’ve been enjoying the style of play and the passing football," the young full-back declared.

"Not many players these days want to play the ball long, it’s about possession football and trying to be patient with the ball.

“The longer you keep the ball the more tired the opposition will be, we’ve noticed that a lot this season.

“Other teams are getting tired towards the 60th minute whilst we’re still feeling pretty fresh.

We can still improve on what we are doing at the moment we need to try and penetrate their defence more but I think the way we’ve been playing is good.”
