THE third RDAA senior match on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Froxfield this season attracted 50 anglers.

The match day weather was overcast with some heavy showers and cold, while there was a strong and gusty wind blowing. 

The Kennet and Avon Canal had a good colour, and was towing strongly.
Total match weight on the day was 149lbs 13ozs at an average weight of 3lbs 7ozs per angler. 

The top three teams were TRBLAS with 40lbs 4ozs, Reading Fishing Club with 28lbs 5ozs and Pangbourne & Whitchurch with 24lbs 7ozs.

The match was won by Dave White of Pangbourne & Whitchurch. Fishing the last peg on the venue on Froxfield C Section, he banked skimmer bream to 12ozs and perch to 1lb 8ozs during the course of the match. He fished pole tactics, feeding groundbait with pinkie and chopped worm with caster, with red maggot, pinkie and worm on the hook to record a weight of 14lbs 14ozs.

Andy Bocket of TRBLAS was second. Fishing the second peg below the “Broken Bridge” on Froxfield B Section, he banked skimmers to 1lb and perch to 2lbs along with roach during the course of the match, fishing pole tactics, feeding groundbait with pinkie, with red maggot, pinkie and worm on the hook to record a weight of 10lbs 2ozs.

Martin Hutchins of Excelsior finished third. Fishing the second peg above the “Ash Tree” on Froxfield B, section, he caught skimmers to 12ozs and roach during the course of the match, fishing same tactics to record a weight of 9lbs 8ozs.

In fourth was Richard Rosinski of TRBLAS with 8lbs 4ozs and fifth was Steve Lewis of Courage/SE Club with 7lbs 13ozs.

TRBLAS have won the club championship with 280lbs 11ozs. Reading Fishing Club follow with 238lbs 7ozs and in third place are Courage/SE with 153lbs.

The individual aggregate weight trophy has been won by Liam Page-Smith (TRBLAS) with 48lbs 15ozs and Mick Donohoe (Courage/SE) took the second spot with 43lbs 8ozs. Joe Baker (Reading Fishing Club) has won the points table with 48 points and runner-up is Page-Smith with 46.

Excelsior A.C. fished their patch on the Thames at Whitchurch/Hardwick Estate. 

George Smith took the top spot with 6lbs 8ozs. The runner-up was Alan Cowell with 5lbs 8ozs and completing the trio was Tony Capewell was 3lbs 10ozs. All of the fish caught were roach, dace, and a few chublets.
The RDAA Tuesday Club fished at Whitehouse Lake on the Stacey complex at Tadley. 

Dave Bosher continued his good run on the venue with four carp that took the scales down to 18lbs 2ozs and Tony Holdsworth finished in second place with roach and skimmers for 9lbs 14ozs. Third spot went to Brian Orchard with one carp for 8lbs 4ozs.
