READING Rockets make the long journey north this weekend as they take on Bradford Dragons on Saturday (6.15pm tip off) before visiting Leeds Carnegie the following day (2pm tip-off) in their final two league games of the season.

The Berkshire outfits' four game winning streak came to an end last Saturday as the Reading team were defeated 80-60 by newly-crowned EBL Division One champions BA London Leopards.

The Barking Abbey side took their winning streak to 17 consecutive wins to lift the league title.

Rockets have however now qualified for the post season and are likely to finish somewhere between fifth and seventh place.

Rockets were unable to cope with the Leopard's shooting prowess in Saturday's game at Rivermead.

Rockets were 28-13 down at the first break and the visitors continued their impressive form into the secoond stanza, taking a 43-28 lead.

An awesome third quarter saw the Rockets outscore their opponents 18-13 and cut the deficit to seven points.

Lewis Champion's mesmerising drive proved one of the highlights of the quarter while Sam Simon took down four rebounds.

Unfortunately foul trouble cost Rockets points and the Leopards stretched their advantage to 10 points going into the final quarter.

Twelve fouls in 12 minutes gifted the Leopards valuable points and coupled with a 9-0 scoring streak saw the Leopards to victory and the league title.

Champion again top scored with 25 points, eight rebounds and five assists with Lukas Aleksandravicius scoring 14 points and taking down four rebounds.

Rockets head coach Samit Nuruzade admitted: "Ultimately their rebounding domination really hurt us and they shot well from the three point line so they really deserve the league title because it's what they have done all year."

Harrison Gamble faces a late fitness test going into the final league weekend while 16-year-old sensation Luke Nelson is away with the England Under 18 team in Holland.
