Reading manager Brian McDermott is the npower Championship Manager of the Month for March. He also won the award in February.

It is the second month in a row the 50-year-old has won it after landing the award in February.

McDermott led The Royals to 19 points from a possible 24 in March, with six wins, one draw and just a single defeat from their eight fixtures.

Former Charlton Athletic boss Alan Curbishley chairs the npower Manager of the Month judging panel.

He said: "March proved to be another amazing month for Brian and his Reading team.

npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins said: "Reading picked up more points than any other side in the npower Championship last month and Brian deserves great credit for this.

"His side have been in fantastic form since the start of February and it's no surprise to see them pushing for promotion.

"On behalf of npower, I'd like to congratulate Brian and the team, and wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season."
