Nominations for the Thames Valley Venus Awards 2018 - backed by the Reading Chronicle- are now open. 

The Venus Awards – dubbed “The Working Women’s Oscars” – are all systems go with their launch in Thames Valley region to find the brightest female business stars.

The Awards celebrate the vital contribution that women in business make to the regional and national economy. In Thames Valley region this year, nominees and applicants will be competing in up to 15 of categories, including the Business Mother of the Year category that is voted for by the general public.

The awards are unique in that anyone can nominate a friend, client or family member.

Santander are title sponsor for 2018. Cheryl Adams, Santander’s Regional Corporate Director and 2017 winner of Director of the Year said of their involvement, “I am delighted that Santander is supporting the Thames Valley 2018 Venus Awards. It is a fantastic initiative with a prestigious and impressive following of inspiring businesswomen, and being a previous winner of a Venus Award, is one that is particularly close to my heart!”

Catherine Turner, from Rapid Search and Interim and Human Firefly Capital, who was the winner of the Business Mother of the Year award in 2017, said of their involvement as Sponsor for the Finance Professional of the Year category, “We are sponsoring the “Finance Professional of the Year” category, which is a new award. I was fortunate enough to win one of the brilliant Venus awards last year. We really felt that recognizing women in business is a great thing to do. Especially in finance, which is predominately a male dominated profession. But there’s obviously some great women out there, we hope this will put them at the forefront!”

Parfitt Cresswell is sponsoring the exceptionally popular Influential Woman of the Year Award that pays homage to the extraordinary role played by women that not only have an extraordinary career but also motivates others to make a difference.

The Venus journey will culminate in a glamorous ceremony to be held at Royal Berkshire Conference Centre at the Madejski Stadium on 8th June 2018.
