Letter: If only Maurice O'Brien were on television!

I feel compelled to write to say 'very well said' to Anthony Crispin on his letter ('Leave Auntie alone', Chronicle, July 29).

I thoroughly agree with every word. I seem to remember writing a similar letter some years ago.

I still consider this licence fee is exceptional value for money and I commented it would cost a similar amount for two to go to London and take in a show, for one day's entertainment.

The BBC provides programmes bringing entertainment plus information plus education 365 days a year. It is a pity that the BBC has wasted thousands of pounds of our money on the exceptionally untalented Jonathan Ross.

I also agree with Maurice O'Brien's comments in the same issue regarding the policeman and the late Mr Tomlinson.
