Once again, Reading East Tory MP Rob Wilson has shown his contempt for hard working people in Reading.

Rather than setting out what the Tories would do to move Britain's economy forward, protect jobs and invest in our public services, he used his Westminster Diary column (Chronicle, November 26) to make some rather silly and nasty personal attacks.

He says that he found the Labour Government's agenda to rebuild Britain's economy and continue to improve our excellent public services distasteful.

What I find distasteful is Rob Wilson's and David Cameron's continued opposition to the measures that Labour put in place to save the banking sector, protecting millions of savers' deposits; the help that Labour has put in place to help people with mortgage payments and Labour's investment in jobs during the recession.

There is now a clear choice between what Labour is doing to minimise the impact of the recession on hard working people and the Tories who would have let the recession run its course, putting at risk people's savings, homes and jobs.
