Let's have more outrage from MP
I was glad to see that Rob Wilson (Chronicle, July 7) is "outraged" at the allegations that police were taking money and that innocent victims' voicemails were hacked into by those acting on behalf of the News of the World.
It would be good to have his comments also on David Cameron's appointment of former News of the World editor
Andy Coulson firstly at Conservative HQ and then at No 10, now that Mr Coulson has been arrested on both those counts.
And while Mr Wilson is writing, perhaps he could also explain why last week he voted in the House of Commons against retaining Labour's tax on bankers' bonuses, the money from which we wanted to use to restore the Future Jobs Fund to tackle youth unemployment. There are after all about a million young unemployed in this country now, not a few of them in his constituency.
Bet we don't hear from him on either issue.
Cllr Pete Ruhemann

Report commentAs usual Ruhemann fires off his 'shotgun' with his usual ill targeted comments and completely misses the target. Does he really need reminding that youth unemployment was far worse when Labour were thrown out of office. Labour went down to one of their biggest electoral defeats in history after 13 years of dysfunctional government leaving more youth unemployed than when the entered office. No, Ruhemann, you comments as usual are pathetic.

Report commentIt is shame that the Labour Councillors in Reading never once thought to criticise their Labour Government, and especially the MP for Reading at the time, for their failings. I remember the then Labour MP for Reading voting with and later not being effective with their policies when they did not suit his image. Labour Councillors are a bit like wolves in sheep's clothing. On the surface they will tell their supporters exactly what they think they will like at the time; and then go away and do the opposite without a thought. I hear that the ex-Labour MP for Reading has now returned very quietly to Reading. Knowing Labour Committees, it obviously will not be long before he once again is extremely vocal about all things, what a short term in Australia it was. However, with his vast fishing experience gleaned from Australia, where he described himself as in the past being responsible for policy on fisheries etc; he may take another long holiday at a very nice residence in Canada. We can but live in hope. Perhaps he may wish to take Councillor Ruehmann with him to benefit from his vast experience of politics; I can't see any one else being remotely interested in him or his thoughts.
