I see that Rob Wilson (The Week In Westminster, Chronicle, October 7) is still peddling the misleading statements about the performance of schools in Reading that I have challenged on previous occasions.

It is true that pupils in Reading were seriously let down under the Tory dominated Berkshire County Council. But in recent years under the Labour controlled council in Reading we saw education performance substantially improve and demand for places in Reading has risen as more parents chose to send their children to schools here.

I guess he thinks that if you say something often enough, people might start to believe it whether it is true or not.
