I see that Chronicle columnist Maurice O’Brien has drawn attention to the European Arrest Warrant and its practice of whisking large numbers of British citizens off to often disgusting European prisons on little or no convincing evidence.

Do you see this indignantly emblazoned over national newspapers or discussed at all on TV?

Of course you don’t - they are all running scared of criticising the EU as are all the supine and stupid politicians that signed us up to the Lisbon Treaty and all its awful consequences, including the EAW.

If you or any of your family are victims of this process, don’t go running to MPs, the British Judiciary or the Home Secretary - they are too cowardly to help you and your British nationality is no protection.

Quite recently, however, two young British men, falsely accused, were released from a truly foul prison in Hungary by the efforts of two courageous MEPs who went to Hungary and cajoled and negotiated at length until they achieved this release. Were they Conservative, Labour or Lib Dem MEPs? Not a chance! They were two United Kingdom Independence Party MEPs who had the guts to make the attempt and had the persistence to succeed. The moral of this story is that if you want your rights protected and the undemocratic actions of the EU fought then UKIP is your only possible choice. Remember this when you are again called upon to vote in any election.
