Letter: Peddling good advice for boys

I NOTE it is the fashion for boys to ride bikes that are set up to look as if they are riding their little sister’s bikes.
They do not look cool, they look like idiots destined to spend a long time in the orthopedics ward of a hospital.
The most efficient use of the leg, I was taught in school physics, is when the knee never bends at an angle of less than 90 degrees; a right angle, like the corner of a square.
Putting excess force on the knee joint at an angle of less than that pops the ligaments inside the knee joint in a way that never really goes back right again.
That is why, boys, the saddle of all bicycles is adjustable to make it the right height for you to use properly, for your legs to put in force that turns into speed and clever control. This makes cyclists look enviably fit.
Not adjusting the bike properly will make you walk like a cripple for life and that really is not cool.
