LAST Friday I met Tom Bellamy - former guitarist with the much-missed Cooper Temple Clause - as he rehearsed at the newly relaunched Play studios.

All blond hair and cheek bones, he folded his tall frame into an executive chair while I admired his knitwear.

Friendly, funny and unbelievably down to earth, he began with: "I used to be in a band called the Cooper Temple Clause."

Gosh, really?

He was rehearsing ahead of this Saturday's gig at The Oakford. He's playing in Losers with XFM's Eddy Temple-Morris, who'll also be DJing, and the night will be opened by the hair-raising MidiMidis.
